Laurie Rose Griffith and Peter Mealy

Laurie Rose Griffith  Laurie was born in Kentucky, went to Berea College, lived in Japan for a year, and got her masters degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She became a fixture on the vibrant local folk scene there before moving to DC.		Peter Mealy  Peter was born in New York and has been sliding south ever since. He discovered the guitar at 18, and that was that.
Buy it here!	We have been performing together since 1994, and have been married since 1995. We met while we were both working as solo performers in the DC area in the club and coffeehouse circuit. We began dating and, while we didn't really plan to start performing as a duo, we would often sit in at each other’s gig. We decided to make a demo, for potential duo gigs, and ended up making a full length CD, Tocoi Light, that represented both of our musical visions. We discovered that we were, in fact, musically simpatico. We have played together ever since.	Buy it here!
