"When my brush hits the canvas, an adventure begins and the world fades away.  I have  an "image " in my head , and  yet a line, a brush stroke, and unexpected color can create it's own reality in the end.  Consistent throughout my work will be colorful places of solitude, spirituality, tranquility,  and beauty .  I celebrate nature and find the forests and  marshlands to be cathedrals for meditation and inner peace. I strive to bring the viewer into a scene to slowly wander and enjoy the romantic mood. "

Lee teaches ,once a month ,a group of 9 determined women at Bee's Stained Glass Studio in Colonial Beach who saw her work and decided they wanted more  .  They  laugh, struggle with the  realities of individual  abilities, and connect to each other as well as to their surroundings  all while following  their desire to learn to paint

landscapes.    Lee's original oil paintings  can be viewed at  beesstainedglass.com under Paint Palette/pictures. She is also a member of Fredericksburg Center For The Creative Arts.  The  artist can be reached at mikelee1970@earthlink.net .
